is amphetamine possibly safer than ritalin?

Kind of a loaded question...I realize.
I'm talking in terms of cardiovascular. It's tough to come upon actual objective comparisons. The official line is that they're generally comparable in terms of safety and side effects, with the exception of amphetamine being more peripherally activating.
Just curious if anyone has any thoughts to the contrary. Thanks...peace...saturn.
