In reply to What does going up from 20 to 40 Paxil do?, posted by UgottaHaveHope on May 25, 2006, at 1:21:52
I guess it depends on the person...for some reason, 40 mg seems to be the target dose for panic disorder, whereas 20 mg for depression, when last I looked. I wonder if it is just the results of the clinical trails; that 40 mg worked better for panic or 20 mg didn't work, etc. In the final analysis, the "target" dose is the lowest dose that works. Phillipa put in one of her posts that 10 mg worked for her and I have a friend that gets great relief from panic with 5 mg Prozac. I have another friend that gets marginal relief from 80 mg Paxil...
My experience was that the more Paxil I took, the more asexual I became-so what does going from 20 mg to 40 mg do? Maybe help. Maybe make you wonder why you ever got involved with the opposite (or same) sex. :>} Best of luck!
