Propranolol will easily penetrate the extremely fine regulated blood-brain barrier acting on central beta-receptors. You will feel sedated maybe not perfect for a performance. During longterm propranolol will cause beta-receptor upregulation (careful taper down). Propranolol has negativ effects on the lipid metabolism in spite of that there seem to be no signs of more intima/media thickness (width of the wall of a blood vessel). Propranolol is very cardiodepressant, thus not a good property if you're doing sport. If you have a heart insufficiency I really cannot recommend this drug (!). For longterm use I cannot recommend propranolol, for a single transient performances yes but with probably some negative impact on the result. I dont know this personally, perhaps somebody else here knows that (?)
There are better options taking a betablocker longterm.
If you have asthma and other thing better ask your doctor.
