Meds to slow down excessive thinking

Posted by flip_flop on May 4, 2006, at 4:53:21

Are there any drugs that helps for intrusive thoughts and overanalyzing? Low-dose SSRI? Mood stabilizers? If SSRIs, which one works best, and what dosage is adequate?

I currently take 50 mg amisulpride, and it works quite well, although it doesn't remove the thoughts completely. Am I asking too much? I was thinking about augmenting amisulpride with another drug.

Does CBT help get rid of overanalyzing? Can CBT cure anything?
