Its interesting that you describe Klonopin as being "more potent" -- I've always seen it as a kind of flat, non-gratifying benzodiazepine, but everyone is different.
I haven't heard of benzodiazepines causing excess libido issues -- Klonopin possibly at less than 1%... but anything is possible. Is this monotherapy or are other medications involved?
I wouldn't go to Xanax for monotherapy -- it is more "gratifying" and has a half life in vivo as little as 4-6 hours. I would say Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan, in that order as in vivo half life -- some prefer Valium over Klonopin, vice-versa, etc.
