While this doesn't necessarily make sense to me pharmacologically in that the same active ingredient and dose is present, I would never argue with an individual's own personal experience with the two "versions." Still, I'm in a dilemma as to whether I should go ahead and try Nardil for my social anxiety (which along with Klonopin seems to by far be the best treatment) or go with Parnate, which also appears to be quite effective.

If the difference is negligible, would it be worth just going with Parnate for now in light of the "controversy" surrounding the Nardil versions? And last but not least, is there much of a difference in terms of side effect profile?

> Thanks for your input. I'm meeting with my Psychiatrist tomorrow, and will likely bring up the possibility in our discussion. It would be great to have a daily med like an MAOI to go along with my prn Klonopin/Provigil, hoping that weight gain and/or sexual side effects wouldn't be too much of a burden. After all, SSRIs have been a bust and I'm running out of options.

> RocketHey Rocket,
I'll just give you MY personal experience with Nardil..remember this is just me, I know a lot of people who do great on Nardil. For me, Nardil did relieve my depression, however the side-effects were horrible. Insomnia, Night Jerks, Terrible anorgasmia the whole time I was on it 3 1/2 mos. I couldn't ejaculate. It was just a very *strange* drug for me, But if you try it you may do much better than I did.
Parnate on the other hand, Well, you know I love my Parnate baby! :) I wish you Good luck with the one you choose.Tyler
