I do recall having some very acute treatment-emergent side effects, but they settled down over the course of a few doses. I don't recall little shocks. I recall significant activation, including insomnia.
Perhaps you could see if something like your side effect is in this list?

I'm not using it, because I developed polycythemia. I'm still being monitored by a hematologist, over one year after discontinuation.
I used an injected ester, the enanthenoate. There is a difference in how the testosterone is metabolized, transdermally versus intra-muscular injection. They're different enough to make comparisons difficult.
My side effects virtually disappeared, after a few weeks. I received injections for about six months, on and off (including rechallenge for polycythemia response). By the end, I only noticed the waxing and waning of the testosterone in the sense of sexual responsivity.
