It is likely that we suffer from the same disorder; I do not find too many people like this.
I too have treatment-resistant depression, which is usually dysthymia. I believe this is reward deficiency syndrome. It masquerades as ADD, typical deperssion, etc. I alaso have social phobia, but that part is made worse by never feeling any reward when I DO put myself on the line and succeed; indeed, I would feel the OPPOSITE of reward, even with the applause of a whole classroom.
My medications: The MAOI Nardil (90mg/day) and Suboxone (12mg works best for me; you can figure your optimal analgesic dose by using 0.132*bodyweight(kg). Ask me if you are interested in how this is derived) This takes care of increasing synaptic "levels" (term doesnt make sense in reality too well)--and intraneuronal vesicle levels as well, something stimulants/ADs do not do--of NE, SE, DA, and GABA. The suboxone helps our reward deficiency by decreasing pain (physical exercise) as well as disinhibiting GABAnerigcally-inhibited DA transmission in the NAc. If I had amphetamine, I'd probably be more motivated, and cognitively sharp but since I have the label of "drug abuser" no one will ever give it to me, despite the fact that now that I'm on suboxone--and enjoying sober life--I doubt I'd ever even think about abusing it. Perhaps one day I will be able to find a sympathetic doctor or have enough money to buy ritalin from Central America or street meth.
Funny thing is, I have been on Adderall and klonopin in the past, and it was nowhere near as effective as Nardil is. This medication has a lot of side effects, but man, it is truly the best drug--licit or illicit--that I have ever taken for increased sociability. I socialize with more people on Nardil than I did on klonopin+Adderall (when I had scripst for it)klonopin+adderall+MDMA, MDMA, and klonopin+MDMA! Of course I abused my meds then, so who knows.
Nice meeting another like me. gotta go now, but I'll bbiab.
