I did not find buspirone helpful for social anxiety. Strattera, nortriptyline, modafinil: not helpful. Clonazepam IS helpful, but as many have observed, it is not a 'pro-social' drug (whether it is desirable to have a drug that alters one's propensity for socialization is debatable, however).
Ritalin: increased general anxiety, tremendously. But strangely, made me more interested in social interaction, and made such interaction less anxiety-provoking. I became much more extroverted and assertive on Ritalin. Too bad it worsened general anxiety, caused anorexia, made me irritable and disorganized. I still am unsure it is desirable to have one's personality parameters reset by a drug. But personality disorders are included in the DSM, so they are officially a valid target for psychiatric intervention. I don't know.
