hi jenstar
i've been on lexapro 40mg for 3 months now but i'm not sure if it's helping (i have ocd and gad and pd)
the xanax seems to help alot, much less anxiety when i take it with lexapro as opposed to taking lexapro alone, but i'm reluctant to take xanax for fear of getting dependent on it
my psy doc says my conditions are chronic and that i need to keep taking the lexapro and xanax while doing my cbt work, but again i'm reluctant to take the xanax because if it does the calming for me then will i ever learn on my own to handle my anxiety?
thanks> Hi,
> this is an interesting question. I was interested when I saw the title because I have taken both of those two drugs at the same time myself, although I'm not sure that I noticed much of an interaction between them. I started lexapro for anxiety and my doctor prescribed Xanax to help reduce anxiety until the lexapro kicked in. It took both of them for a few weeks and when I started feeling better, I stopped the Xanax.

It's possible that together are the lexapro and Xanax made me feel more lethargic and a dreamy event on the lexapro alone, or on the Xanax alone.
