Critical thinking is a valuable skill to have, especially when evaluating treatment choices for your health.
I think one would do well to develop a good understanding of what the problem is, perhaps in collaboration with a consultant/professional; carefully and critically evaluate all treatment options, again perhaps along with a professional; make and implement a treatment decision; and then evaluate your decision, adjusting if necessary.
I think if I only read one side of an issue, I am cheating myself of data that likley would be useful in making my decision.
