Also, I checked the patent number on the selegiline patch ( # 4861800) , and it was filed back in 1987.
Only ~20 years to get this to market?

For those who care, the patent described a number of methods of administration, including a Polyethylene glycol ointment, a cream base, and the transdermal patch everyone is so excited about, in which selegiline is disolved in mineral oil and allowed to disolved through polypropylene into the skin.
