Hi,
>I was just responding that now they have what is called a pharmacist Physician Assistant. They can Rx medications, and just need to periodically check in with a pdoc.
In the UK, a very small number pharmacists now have limited prescribing rights. At the moment, they still have a very limited role and a clinical management plan needs to be agreed with the physician before hand. Pharmacists' clinical roles are extremely restricted at the moment but hopefully they will improve. If not, I have a very boring life ahead of me! I honestly don't know what pharmacists can and cannot do in the US, perhaps you can find out more :-) It is true that I never wanted to be a pharmacist, I always wanted to be a doctor but I knew that I wouldn't be able to cope. Perhaps if I went on Nardil or Parnate I would have a bit more confidence.
