hi! When you're dealing with sedative+sedative combos, there usually aren't hard and fast rules, unless you're dealing with barbiturates or something equally lethal. Personally, I'd lay off the depakote tonite if you've just started , and just resume tomorrow. My very limited experience with Depakote ended after a week when I refused to take it anymore (I was getting sick)...while I was taking it, though, I found that it had a hangover sedative effect that got worse when taken with my other meds, even with sleeping pills with short half-lives (sonata, ambien).
