This should go without saying but when taking an MAOI (or any med for that matter) carefully check the warnings on any OTC drug before taking it. All the contraindicated cold and cough medicines clearly state that they are not to be taken with an MAOI. (One would also hope that your pdoc gave you a heads up on this. And you do read the patient information sheet you get with any new prescription, right?)
