Hi Sebastian:
Frankly, I have no good clue on this, ... 'connection.' It has some, ... but not 'that' much effect due to 'generic' WB sr. In my case, a discontinuation of the Serzone was partly because of my pdoc.'s advice on the 'liver.' He seems not to stay me on the Serzone for long time(I was on it for about four years), particularly after the brand one was discontinued. There was some 'connection' between Bupropion SR and the Serzone, but not to the extent, in my guess.Personally, I love this, 'generic version,' partly on the money-saving, and also works as well as the brand one. However, in your case, there might have some 'sensitivity' issue. Like I said, from what I read, there is a VERY slight difference between the brand one and generic in its process/making although those 'substances' are exactly same as the brand one. Normally, we do NOT see this 'miniscule' difference, but if your are 'med. sensitive,' then this 'slightness' matters you a lot. It's expensive to get the brand one, but rather than 'wasting' money on the generic, possibly going back to the brand one is better?
In my case, it does not bother me either generic and brand, because three of four meds. I've been on are all 'generic.' Just, the Zyprexa is 'brand' one. Lithium, Trazodone and again WB sr are all generic. But, still expensive. Luckily, all of my folks are quite nice to me.
Hopefully, you will find a good answer to your 'puzzle' in regard to Bupropion SR soon!
H.G.
