I'm stunned that your doctor told you to do that! Tapering on Effexor is very important. That's why you're having the "zaps".....And your pharmacist is suspect also. When I quit taking it, I was taking 75mg a day. I tapered down slowly. It took a long time, 2 months probably, to get over all of the zaps and tingles and feeling like I had rocks in my head. I even counted the little "balls" in the capsules, that's how careful I was.........Effexor is known for it's withdrawal difficulty. I hope this helps you. Write again.
