Hi
I'm a new user and I'm posting with concern for my girlfriend. She has had a history (5 years) of depression from 16-21 (now 21) and she has gone thru many medications
This past summer she had a falling out and came close to suicide and went to a hospital for about half a week and was sent to outpatient care in which her psychiatrist there gave her a diagnosis of bi-polar 2 and lowered her current meds (effexor and lexapro) and put her on trileptal.
the trileptal was semi-working, but she still had dull depression and was having the zombie-like feeling while on it.
She then went back to her own psychiatrist who disagreed with the bi-polar 2 and labelled her as treatment resistant depressive (due to lack of any manic or hypomanic episodes) and now put her on wellbutrin.
her doctor took her completely off trileptal and just started her on the wellbutrin two days ago. the past two nights she was has been feeling very depressed and suicidal, but then is able to snap back out of it.
Would this be due to the trileptal or the wellbutrin?
any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
