I always was active and got a fair amount of exercise. Walking a couple of miles a day, going to the gym frequently, hiking. It didn't stop me from sliding down into depression. Nor has it helped me out of it. But I know it is helpful for mood control for many people. I do find it helpful for dispelling anxious energy.
