Thanks! Your post was so informative and optimistic- just the way I feel about the TMS I have had. I'm assuming that you don't yet know what you are receiving- I guess it could even be a *sham* arm of the study. I think they eventually tell you that, and offer you the real thing, if you have not been having it.
I like it very much that they are going to 120% of the motor threshold now. I believe that in the studies being done at Yale, they are actually going high enough to cause seizures- although they are not using anesthesia. Do please keep us informed as to all the details of the study you are in- especially whether it has truly been helpful. That would mean so much to me, and others like me, who have been doing it *off-label*, and have found it extremely helpful.
As to the "ECT lobby", I didn't think of that! Dr. Hutto uses ECT for a great many patients, but, if it works well enough for them to get somewhat better, he tries to switch them to TMS, as the risks are so much lower, and the quality of life so much better.
