Hello,
PLEASE do not take Prozac with the assumption that it doesn't cause weight gain. Myself and MANY other people have gained a great deal of weight from taking it. In my senior year of high school (1997) I was a thin, healthy teenager. By the time I started college that fall I had gained 80 pounds! In the next few years I gained about 40 more and now am 120 pounds from what I started at. I never used to diet or exercise as I was thin and healthy, but since gaining weight I've tried dieting, exercising, everything. None of the weight would come off. When I stopped taking Prozac (gradually) last summer, I was able to take off about 30 pounds but then I went back on it a few months later, and I've gained 40 pounds back. Contrary to what you've heard, Prozac is actually one of the WORST SSRIs as far as weight gain. Please consider a different option if you can.
