> I have long time sleep onset problems and became addicted to ambien. So that is a "no-no" drug for me. i am on a variety of AD's and mood stablizers, but falling asleep is a major problem. Sonata seems to help but does not give me the addictive need I had with Ambien (the need to escalate the dose). Question is --can sonata be taken for more than a month and still be effective? Thanks
Having you considered a sedating AD such as Remeron or Doxepin? These have been shown to improve sleep in sleep studies & can be safely taken for alot longer then the Benzo type drugs. They can also be combined with most other drugs that you might be taking.
