> YES!!! Alcohol can worsen panic attacks and all forms of anxiety as well as all forms of depression. This is because alcohol is a potent central nervous system depressant drug and it makes you more depressed. Where there is severe anxiety and panic, there is also some depression. You need to realize that depression usually goes hand in hand with severe panic attacks/GAD/PTSD, etc.

> Mr. Sad PuppyDogHello, I would like to add that roughly 30% of systemic diseases mimic mental illnesses, for example, a very commmon mimicker of anxiety is an underlying Hyperthyroidism. There are volumes of good medical resources which discuss the importance of ruling out the possibility that a mental conditon is secondary to a primary and undetected disease. Uncontrolled diabetes comes to mind and although pure hypoglycemia as state maybe rare: Hypoglycemia and hangovers have been widely described as similar to anxiety symtoms by many people who suffer from them.
