> I was just started on Lexapro this week: 5 mg. I have had some side effects, nausea and "fogginess" in my head. How long do these SEs last and when will I begin to feel better? I have anxiety and was unable to tolerate Paxil. Is 5 mg an appropriate dosage to be effective for my symptoms? I am only 5ft and weight 100#.
Marlar,
As they say, "your mileage may vary", but 10 mg a day is typical starting dosage. You may want to split the pill if you continue to feel foggy. You may also consider taking the pill before you go to bed at night. The nausea usually goes away after four weeks. I occassionally still have nausea after 10 weeks. I don't have experience wiyh the other available AD medicine, but Lexapro has worked well for me
Good luck!
