Ever since the combination of opioids + naloxone - hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (OxyContin) etc. PLUS small dose of opiate antagonist Naloxone - have been found to stop tolerance to opiates - I'm wondering - why aren't opiates used more and more in the depression segment? There is very high amount of data suggesting that there are lots and lots of people for whom traditional (SSRI, MAOis etc) treatmeant doesn't work, however any kind of opiate treatment finally gives them relief. Any thoughts?
