i think my reply would be "buddy i bet you would never start off a publication with broad generalizations about those of an ethnic group or religion so what makes you think it's okay to make generalizations about mental illness"

on the other hand, i guess the fellow does a reasonable job of trying to explain what mania feels like..... i mean how much can you expect from some generic reporter?

furthermore.....if you really believe this guy is an idiot or a jerk, why waste your time carrying about what an idiot/jerk thinks? ........

let the world go on having a messed up impression of mental illness... it suits me just fine when people tell me i'm not depressed or they don't believe in depression :)
