Chris,
Indeed, I did go to my doc yesterday. I did *want* to try Nardil or find some way to make the Parnate work without my BP spiking. He denied my request to do either, unfortunately. He thought I was doing well enough with just the Klonopin, that it just wasn't worth the risk.
He has a goood point, I really am not doing bad at all. I took an anxiety inventory when I went to his office, and I was only "high normal". This is post-Parnate. BTW, absolutely no detectable "withdrawal" syndrome.
I guess the MAOI's were more of an experiment. I did want to see if there was anything to help ease my symptoms of derealization / depersonalization (the most stubborn symptoms I have, by far). Parnate did help this substantially. But everything else is under control.
For some reason, I am able to function well, even when I was at my worst point (which was really bad in 2001). So, yeah, I'll function fine without the Parnate (although I'd be *better* with it).
My MAOI experience is comforting in that I know if I ever get as depressed as I did in 2001, there is always one last line of defense. Although, I made it out last time, with only CBT and Klonopin!
I hope you continue to get better, Parnate is a great drug, and I must admit I'm a bit jealous you get to stay on it.
Best to you,
Matt
