Also, while I pretty much agree that many doctors who prescribe other Schedule II stims won't have a problem prescribing Desoxyn, there are quite a few who see Desoxyn as more abuseable (presumably due to its generic name) and are thus much more uncomfortable prescribing it than the other amphetamines or methylphenidate. The same sort of thing happens with benzos -- a lot of doctors don't think twice about writing a prescription for Klonopin, though they often have quite an aversion to Xanax, even though they're both Schedule IV drugs. <shrugs>
