I got that from Welbutrin. Very unpleasant. I believe that it is a form of "tinnitus aurium," All sorts of things can cause it. Asprin taken with pepto bismol of all things can bring on some forms of it. Many of its causes are known, many people suffer from it and it can be mysterious. It is usually passing. Do you drink alcohol? You started the Elavil about a month ago. I think that is a huge coincidence. These meds can have some pretty wild side effects on us sometimes. They are very idiosyncratic. The thing is once you experience that, then sometimes afterwards you imagine you hear it and its hard to be sure. I hated it. It has entirely gone away. There are plenty of people who like Welbutrin and Elavil so probably other meds won't cause it again, if it is caused by that.. Keep us posted.
