> JaneBI checked up on my research, and in fact, I was wrong. There were previous studies done that suggested tobacco smoking did help prevent against alzheimer's, but apparently this has turned out not to be true. Most of the research I found concluded that smoking had no impact on the development of alzheimer's, whether it be positive or negative.
However, there is a much lower occurence of parkinson's in tobacco smokers.
