Does Ritalin expire quickly or slowly?

Posted by HelenInCalif on April 3, 2003, at 12:11:15

Relating to an earlier thread ("help: switched from Dexedrine to generic"), I'm stuck with a 3 week supply of generic dexedrine that doesn't work for me. I'll see about replacing it with regular dexedrine. Meanwhile, I have to do something about my ADD, and I have a small supply of Ritalin that expired 5/2001. (Ritalin worked for the ADD but I'd stopped taking it because it caused slight anxiety after a while).

I've read that most drugs expire slowly (re: the Wall Street Journal article a couple of years ago on how the army saved millions by testing and not throwing out 'expired' medications). Has anyone seen evidence that expired Ritalin could go bad after 2 years?
