I read up on Xyrem, which is GHB that is approved for narcolepsy. It sounds like it has a special control system on it that requires physicians to only prescribe it to narcoleptics, since the place the physician must call in the prescription to tells the doctor to do tests first for narcolepsy. I'm wondering if a doctor can simply side-step this and prescribe it off-label for something like anxiety? Anyone?
