You'll know soon enough whether it was the drinking, but I have read that with Lamictal, some people get a short burst of relief early on, but when you finally reach your optimal dose it sticks.
Wouldn't give up on it yet. It's not like anything is likely to completely and consisitently undepress you (damn!)
