My son takes 40 mgs of Adderall RX Daily. (He is 14)
Recently, they added Tiagabine 3x a day (4mgs each.
The reasoning is that he gets angry and argues with his grandparents. (Normal, adolescent arguing.) My son lived with me for 13 years and never exhibited any out of the ordinary anger problems. I attribute his current "anger" problems to being a teenager i.e. arguing because he wants to play video games on the weekend etc.
My point and question is: Is this a normal drug combination? I looked this drug up and it states its for Epilepsy or Anti convulsants. He does not have seizures, nor does he have epilepsy. I am very worried about this need his grandparents have to medicate him when he is not being "perfect."
(He was not on any ADHD medications for 13 years, he started those about 3 months ago as well.)
Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated to this worried mom!
