> I needed a laugh today, and you had me rolling about the "grazing" in the fridge, lol!!!!!! At night, right before bed I have to have like 4 snacks, gee, no wonder I have gained 25 pounds! I am stuck in "fat" pants right now. I REFUSE to buy new clothes. Do you think I should restart the Zoloft and try to ditch the Remeron to see if it is the Remeron that caused the weight gain? I am thinking that may be the way to go. I have tried to cut the Remeron back before, just by about 5 mgs. (I'm on 30) and it gives me nausea and agitation. Getting off it will be hellish, but at this point I am desperate to shed the weight. The new Lexapro I am on (2 weeks into it) isn't making me feel as good as the Zoloft did. Kind of blah, not happy, not sad, just "here" if you know what I mean. With the Zoloft I get anxiety relief almost immediately.
Oh yeah, that stuff will make you eat like crazy if you are susceptible. I clearly remember taking Remeron a couple of hours before bedtime (taking it earlier trying to avoid a hangover in the morning like doxepin used to do to me), and it would kickin before I went to sleep and I just HAD to hang out at the fridge and sample and consume all sorts of stuff. You need to talk to your pdoc about doing the switchback. It *sounds* like a good idea. BTW, I would get a mild rebound hypomania from dx'ing Remeron which was similar to stopping TCA's previously. A lot of it was like: "Thank God someone turned on the defroster so I can see out the windshield!". :0)
