Long-term effects of SSRI's/ toxicity/ ANS dysf.

Posted by Brainfart on November 24, 2002, at 12:36:36

Hi everyone out there!

I am curious to find out if anyone out there in cyberspace has been on an SSRI for over 10 years and has developed an intolerance towards it?

By intolerance I mean that the smallest dosage of the drug, may it be Celexa, Zoloft, Prozac, Luvox or any of the other SSRI's leads to toxicity...all the symptoms one usually experiences when the drug is taken in excessive amounts.

This is what happened to me and I would like to find out WHY.

I have also developed ANS dysfunction (trembling, tremors, tachycardia, dyskenesia, inner restlessness...not to be confused with anxiety...is not quite the same feeling...it feels more like speeding up inside).

Once I stopped the SSRI - in my case it was Zoloft - the one drug I have responded really well to - the symptoms gradually, but very slowly disappeared.

I would really appreciate some thoughts and input on this!
