My gynocologist told me that sometimes hairloss that starts 3-4 months after some precipitating event is dramatic, but is actually caused by new hairs coming in. Since at the same time I tried making sure I didn't take too much vitamin A (it's pretty hard to find a supplement with less than 300% of the recommended amount), & that I got enough zinc & selenium. I also started taking saw palmetto on the advice of my pdoc and biotin on the advice of my hairdresser & using rogaine on the advice of a dermatologist I saw. I quit the rogaine a month or so ago, but for a few months now (I've been on the stuff since April) the amount of hair I lose daily seems to have returned to normal.

Annie, I noticed you posted this some time ago. What experience have you had since? I am at about 14 months on Lamictal. Still worrying about the hair loss, but reluctant to DC something that has worked so well.
