I've taken 75 mg of effexor xr for OCD, but I found the most effective thing was psychotherapy. Well, mostly self administered, pdoc directed, and very much assisted by my dh. After about a year on the effexor, I came off and found very little reoccurance of my OCD symptoms and my "therapy stuff" kicked in almost subconciously. I can give you a couple of book titles if you like.
