Lithium augmentation therapy VS Antipsychotics....

Posted by wcfrench on August 28, 2002, at 21:09:52

I'm starting this thread because I want to see if there are any others out there that have tried both anti-psychotics and lithium augmentation. And, for those who have, which worked better or which worked at all?

Before trying lithium augmentation, my doc went to Seroquel and then eventually Geodon, both with which I had partial success. After having a high occurence of side effects with Geodon, we had to stop it and now I'm taking Lithium+Remeron. I guess I am hoping that I will have the same success with Lithium + AD that I did with Geodon, because although I had lots of side effects, Geodon was the only medicine that got rid of all my symptoms, both depressive and anxiety. I'm wondering if anyone else has been through both antipsychotics and lithium augmentation, and if you can tell me with which you had success and to what degree. Do they compare? I really hope antipsychotics aren't the only answer.. I hope I will feel as good as I did on the Geodon with the Remeron and Lithium. Thanks for any response.
