Yes, the med-world is changing. I'm not so sure it's the FDA or other Gov. agencies as much as it is the insurance companies not wanting to pay for all the nice little pills. Sorry, but I have to blame the media wave the changed a few years ago allowing TV and other media advertising of "other" meds. Case in point: I used to take Ambien about 6 or 7 years ago. Took it nightly for several years. Now my insurance company says:
"Oh my, we're concerned about your health, you can only get this for 30 days per year unless your MD writes a nice letter." So, no more Ambien for me, because how many MDs want to script contradictory to FDA or AMA guidelines. Same problem with pain meds. Modern science:archaic application.
