Its called 'pre-menopause', or in my case it called perimenopause (because I'm probably a little older than you and I am in the beginnings of it). Definately talk to your MD/gyne! This is something you psychiatrist is not trained for, if it is hormone related. You can talk to your pdoc, too, but do not exclude the MD, first.
Trust me, there are many of us that wish psychiatrists were trained in the reproductive system and endocrine system, but thier not. A good gyne/MD is the best to discuss this with- for the answers, to get tests, meds, etc . .
Then you can talk to your pdoc about it- maybe some of what your feeling is mental or meds related. The pdoc can add thier own insite. and you get a wider prespective. Also, go to the book store and pick yourself up a good book, or two, on womens health. There are some good books by women doctors, go for those. This is the best way to begin, I believe, than just starting on the web. There is too much unscientific information on the internet and many people cannot tell what is credible and what is not.
Take care,
Hildi
