Ok bipolars, try to beat this. The amount of each vitamin is up to you; try seeing what works best. You could get everything that you need in a multivitamin (make sure there's nothing it in that is going to cause a problem) except for the fish oil, calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin E. It is important to take all of those together; they work well in combination. Note that this does not apply to pregnant women, the elderly, or children.
Each day take:
3 x 1-3 grams of fish oil concentrate
3 x 250-300mg of calcium (take with fish oil)
3 x 200mg of vitamin D (take with calcium)
-Note that you can easily find calcium +
vitamin D supplements.
3 x 200 IU of vitamin E (take with vitamin D)
90-120 mg vitamin C
25mg DHEA (take it with breakfast)
0mg caffeine
0mg alcohol->Optional:
300-400 mcg folic acid
10-25 mcg vitamin B12
10-25 mg vitamin B6
other vitamins that float your boatIf all of that doesn't work, add:
7.5mg/day Remeron (if you're feeling depressed, anxious, a bit psychotic, or can't sleep). You could take 15mg/day, but I don't think it's necessary. Wait a couple weeks and only take more if you don't feel better.
150-300mg/day Wellbutrin (if you smoke or feel out of energy all day even with all the vitamins and supplements).
I really don't feel that a MAOI is necessary for someone with bipolar disorder. That's just my opinion, however. There will be better drugs soon, but I have made my suggestions based on what is available in the U.S. at this time.
