Stims stop working, why does this happen?

Posted by jonh kimble on June 8, 2002, at 1:47:49

i am someone who struggles with long term social anxiety, dysthymia, chrionic fatigue and a.d.d. no ssri's, no tca's, no maoi's, nore wellbutin, effexor, and adrafinil have ever done anything positive for me in any way. the only med to ever help has been dexedrin which worked for about 3 hours, here and there (maybe 4 times within 2 months) simply doesnt work often. caffeine and nicotine also make me feel great for a very short peroid of time then i feel worse after. and even this is only the odd time. i guess that my dopamine stores are low, (release all the dopamine at once , then its all gone,) if this is true, maybe low dopamine storage contributes to my case in general. maybe a trial with amisulpride would be dangerous?

any info would be appreciated.
