limbic system and mood dysregulation

Posted by jonh kimble on May 13, 2002, at 16:27:18

i have heard bits and pieces about the limbic system of the brain (specifically dopamine) being involved in social response, motivation, mood, and even chronic fatigue. does anyone know more specifics?

i myself suffer from social detachment(dont feel close to anybody) social anxiety, lack of motivtation, mild depression, innattention, and chronic fatigue. these seem to fit the description. are there any ways to actually view brain dysfunction? what meds would help with this? i have tried many meds without lasting response, so if anybody knows anything about meds not typically used (mirapex, amisulpride, others) it would be a great help. thanks

jon
