Just in case your doc forgot to mention it I thought I would...the Prozac is also recommended for "cushioning" your Effexor withdrawals. Supposedly makes it easier.
Luck. :)

> Just thought I'd share this. I ran out of Effexor XR 3 days ago and decide to go get re-evaluated before refilling the Rx. It has not been fun. The most noted side-effect would be the 'flu-like symptons'. Dizzy, disoriented, lazy, somewhat sore and weird, long-lasting dreams at night. In a word, I'm miserable. The upside is, I've been looking at my wife in a new light. ;)

> Effexor completely killed my sex drive. I didn't care if I ever had sex again. Needless to say, my wife didn't share my complacency. I went to see my Doc today. After talking about the positive and negitive effects he decided to put me on Prozac. 10mg a day for the 1st week, then 20mg a day starting the second week. He claims it doesn't have the withdrawl symptoms and shouldn't have the sexual (or lack thereof) side effects.
