what's up

Posted by Shanti on March 17, 2002, at 7:14:17

good morning sue doe

first thing ; very strange but nice, my 5month old daughter will wake up at 7:00 or so i get up to feed her but she decides to fall back asleep so this is when i get to come down and post. i think she knows subconsciouly that mom needs some of her own time to do what she wants (hence this) so instead of getting mad that i get up when still tired i salute her! for she must know what i need to do this!

i want to know how your grape picking went? well i hope. i have 2 children 1 boy will be 10 at the end of next month and a 5month old daughter who celebrated yesterday her 5 months here on earth!

i agree with you about not sending your children to school sometimes because your right it may not be a "thermomater" sick. i think sometimes we as parents do not validate our children's feelings or requests becasue we think they should listen to us because we know what is best. i have a bad habit of saying no quickly without really listening (learned this from my child hood years) but instead i try to stop, listen and then make my decision, when i do this it seems to benefit all parties involved.

i don't know if you saw the post to angel girl i sent about support from spouse/others. my husband said it best he can't understand it because he doesn't have it just like smoking, etc. i agree with him. he tries although some days not as much as i would like but what can we expect?

will be leaving for church in about 2.5 hours - we just started going so we can babtize our daughter. we go every sunday now because our pastor is 31 years old and fantastic! his belief is that going to church is a celebration not a place to be because you have to be. this is so true because my hus. didn't want to go but now he looks forward to going and even sings! this helps me a great deal because all my life i have had a connection to god but have lost him/her many times through the years but always wind up at the front door so to speak! for me i go for the story not the preaching and thank goodness pastor kevin doesn't preach! (actually he does but his stories turn them into tales that are interesting) and when im at my lowest and go to church the sermon always seems to be directed to me (this has happened for the last 4 weeks at church) which makes it even that more grand to attend!

happy st. patty's day to you and your family.

i look forward to hearing from you soon and please tell me how the grape job went!

peace
your friend,
shanti
