My doctor has said that some ADs turn off/alter the mechanism in the brain that tells you when you're full! When I was on Celexa, I didn't think it was weird that I was always hungry...I ate and ate and ate....I ended up gaining thirty pounds. Now that I'm on Effexor, I don't have that problem and have lost half that weight. Effexor is an appetite suppressant, I think. Or at least it is at first.
