I found your post quite cogent. I almost fell off my chair chuckling
when I read through all your theories about why your mood might
be destabilized/mixed/hypomanic, and then at the end of the post
you put a PS that you are hypomanic from drinking mountain dew
(but don't list caffeine/stimulant overload as a possibility). ;)Personally, I don't think you can really predict how your brain
chemistry is going to react to all those med changes going on
at once. Its just too much of a wild card. You're just going to
have to wait it out and see. I'm affected by the weather too,
so that could be another variable. Too many variables. Must
be driving you a little batty. I sympathize with your plight.
Paxil can be a tough medicine to withdrawl from.BTW, can I assume that your diagnosis is bipolar? That would
just throw more uncertainty into the puzzle. Bipolars can be
destabilized easily from major body chemistry changes.Good luck with your medicines. Hope you can duke it out
successfully. Keep us posted.-John
> I'm tapering off of paxil due to weight gain and I'm also on welbutrin sr (300mg), depakote er (1500mg), and risperdal (1mg). I'm feeling somewhat agitated, anxious, jittery, and weird in general, but I'm also feeling down, insecure and just irritable/annoyed/angry (the weight gain isn't helping things). This is the way I felt when I was on an AD alone, and what I described as hypomania/mixed (I'm still not sure it was) to my pdoc. I'm not in the same mood for very long though and I don't always feel bad like that. Logically, I should be depressed coming off of an AD right? Not going into mixed or w/e. Could it just be that I'm feeling the welbutrin more now that I'm coming off paxil? Or withdrawl?
> I live in Colorado, and the weather here is always changing (like today was snowy, then sunny, then snowy) and I think it could affect my moods as well.
