In reply to Depression and sleep also remeron experience, posted by johnj on February 25, 2002, at 9:45:44
I had a fabulous response with 30 mg Remeron for 2 months, and then a massive poop-out. Raised it to 45 mg and kept getting worse. It's rumored to have that unfortunate effect. However, I recently went on 300 mg. lithium as an augmentor and now the Remeron is back to it's old wonderfulness at 30 mg. I also strongly suspect that I'm bipolar II and not unipolar since all SSRI's have not worked - hence the lithium.
> I have been taking 50 mg of nortryptline, 300 mg litobid(2X daily), and 7.5 mg tranxene for 9 years, and I have unipolar depression. I started taking 30 mg of remeron 2 weeks ago, and slept well for the first time in quite a while. However, since Saturday I haven’t been able to get to sleep like I have been the last 2 weeks. I do feel I have slipped with my depression and wonder if remeron has already pooped out. Remeron has been great except for the fuzziness at times and some downturn in feeling, including sexual response. But, my concentration, motivation, energy, and sense of humor have been better. Man, I am frustrated right now, how can something work so fast and poop out so fast?? I am feeling really down and helpless right now. Remeron gave me the sleep and now I am not sure what is going on. Is there anybody with experience with remeron that has had the same thing happen? Maybe I need to take a lower dose for sleep and a higher in the morning? Or maybe just a higher does at night? If I sleep well, I generally feel well.
