> I've been taking Dilantin Kapseals (XR) for mania. It has no side-effects, even at high doses. When I felt that I had no more mania, I stopped taking it. But now my doctor says that he wants to have me get a blood serum level drawn for it. My question is this: If I were to take a 900 mg dose tonight, would I have a normal therapeutic blood level (300 ml) of it tomorrow if I were tested in the morning? ...

The problem is that I haven't been taking it regularly-- yet I need to please the doc by showing that I have a therapeutic blood level of the Dilantin. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanx...My Mom has epilepsy and at her highest dose it was only 100mg 4x daily (which I thought was a max dose of Dilantin) plus phenobarbitol.
Are you sure you are taking that much-that doesn't sound right.Mitch
